My Mk1 focus failed its MOT. Rust around rear seatbelt mounting point. Needs to be plated. To cut final bill I have removed and will replace myself, rear seats and trim. Some of the trim securing pads/clips, have come away from the trim, and are still held in place on the car by their sprung clips
What is the best adhesive to use to secure pads to rear of trim. TIA

I replaced the leather cover for the middle arm rest on my car, making sure it's clean before using " Glue from any DIY Store" then I left it before replacing, job done, no problem Bob.
How about double sided 'sticky fixer' pads?

At least there won't be any holding in position waiting for glue to dry.

Regarding trim/ seats removed. Would the examiner pass the car if the seats/ trim were not replaced by the fitter. But replaced by myself to fit after taking it away from the garage Trim/seats are not part of the MOT examination are they?
As long has you put it all back properly there should be no problems with the MOT.
Providing the weld is correctly done, the belt has not fraid & working the car should pass, the trim has nothing to do with the test Bob.
sellotape ?
