my vauxhall vectra has no lights on the rear drivers side, when i wiggle the black box they flicker, any ideas please?

Sorry it doesn't help you, but I've long felt that Vauxhalls have a weakness when it comes to bulb problems. If you see a vehicle with a light out, it's usually, in my experience a Vauxhall. No reason bearing in mind they're manufactured all over Europe.

Sorry Arrods, but they are usually old Ford Mondeos with a bit of gaffer tape on the rear bumper.

Check the Wire Connections at the lamp's rear.
