Just bought a 2002 Subaru Legacy 2.0l to get me through snowy spell. Looks good, full service history etc. Today had chance to drive in non-snowy conditions on the motorway and found that it's really down on power - doesn't want to rev and struggles to get to 70. No warning lights, idles super-smooth, doesn't stall, just has no grunt. Any ideas?

I know it sounds crazy but Try disconnecting the battery overnight then connect up and see if it is ok and for how long it last, don't forget the radio codes.
Expensive if this car goes wrong, 2002 Subaru Legacy 2.0l take the car back to the seller.
