I have a '57 plate Peugeot 307 estate, when my other half came to pick me up tonight, the fan, which I think is at the front, just behind the grill was making a terrible noise....any ideas? And is it expensive....lololol

If the fan belt is simply slipping (and making a noise like a dog in pain) then it's likely that it simply needs to be tightened a bit. I know next to nothing about cars but even I've managed to rectify the problem in around two minutes on a couple of Fiestas that I've had. (It's the sort of job that my local garage will do free of charge anyway). If the access is as easy on the Peugeot 307 then it can be done just as quickly. (However a few cars do seem to be designed to make the adjustment as difficult as possible!).

Hi, my wife had a 307 in turned out the fan was catching the radiator, lift up the bonnet and you can easly see if it is.
Ruddy Fan belts slipping is all people think of around here ...
even with cars that have an electric fan!
Can you find a fanbelt for any of these cars here? ...

The fan motor is officially sealed .. but you might get some WD40 into the bearings.
If not, the fan needs replacing.
Could be the fan belt slipping...

:)
Slip your ruddy belt in a minute!

Could be the fan or the alternator/power steering belt could need adjustment.
