Well that's not strictly true. I can get out the back door but you can't lock it from outside.

Well... I went into the bathroom, shut the door, and the door handle fell off outside. After about an hour, and reaslising that Tony wouldn't be home for a further 6 hours or so... I began to shout for "ayuda" through the glass slats (it's not a proper window). Suddenly a voice answered and I explained that I was locked in.

She ran home to get her phone and came back and asked for a number to call. I gave her Tony's number and she tried to tell him that I was locked in the bathroom. Unfortunately... tony doesn't speak a word of Spanish. 4 years, and he can't even count to ten.

Anyway... she asked me how to say it in English... so I just said, "Caroline in bathroom."

Well, from her... it came out, "Ca-woe-line in bass hoom."

A friend of mine collapsed in a toilet cubicle. The cubicle went from floor to ceiling, the door was locked and she was slumped against it...then she wet herself...pmsl.

After ten minutes of her repeating "Ca-woe-line is bass hoom" she realised by the one word response, "Valencia" that Tony was actually nowhere near the house.

She disappeared on me and as I was standing in the bathtub trying to peer through the slats... the door opened. Her huband, thankfully, had got home and she told him all about the mad English woman shouting from the bathroom. He'd climbed over our wall, up the stairs and through the kitchen window, which was mercifully ajar.

How embarrassing.

My OH collected rifles and when I dusted one my hand got jammed on a spring lock thingy under the barrel. OH just laughed when I phoned & said he couldn't leave work so I had to call the police.

I had last laugh & gave the collection to police :)

If anything happened to my step father, my mother has to contact the police within 48 hours to come and collect his guns.
