What did others think of last night's 'Have I got news for you' It featured Rolf Harris in the chair?

OK, I can take Rolf in small doses, but I thought he was not suited for this type of programme.

As usual he couldn't wait to get his '"Didgeridoo' out at the first opportunity, closely followed by a touch of sketching, and then to finish off his good old 'Wobbleboard'.

All very clever, but please not on a show such as this.

I thought it was an excellent show to be honest. Rolf Harris made me laugh quite a lot with his jokes, such as an australian minister claiming for the wooden leg. He certainly isnt the best guest host that they've had but i think he did well over all.
At first glance I thought it was `The Rolf Harris Show`
I felt it was a bit like when Bruce Forsyth was the guest host and the panellists seemed to be humouring him.

I like Rolf and I thought he did better than some of the other hosts, but I did wince when he called Andy Hamilton "little fella". When the camera cut to AH he didn't seem to be finding it that amusing
I wasn't keen on either Forsyth or Rolf Harris as the chair .........but neither were as bad as Brian Blessed..he was just embarrassing.
I thought Rolf did a good job, I suppose we did have to expect a bit of didgerdooing, but it was fun, as mentioned better than Brian Blessed who shouted his way through it, and better than Kirsty Young who in my opinion doesn't have the personality or humour for the show! Best host, Boris Johnson!

For the first few minutes I though Rolf sounded very uncomfortable and I felt a little sad that he seemed to have aged greatly and seemed to be struggling... but he then seemed to settle into the role and I thought he did a really good job overall
I wasn't going to watch it when I saw it was Rolf but I stuck with it & thought he did an ok job
esther...it's Lynam, if you search youtube for HIGNFY Des Lynam there are lots of videos.

they do this every time a presenter is chosen who is well known for something else that they can use eg brucie

Well I must bow to the majority, it must have been an off night for me and not the show.

Thank you for all your comment, must agree regarding Brian Blessed, Boris Johnson was excellent, both on the panel and in the chair, rather enjoyed Jack Dee too.
Surprisingly I thought Charlotte Church was ok too.
Bring back Angus.

It really is a shame that he left - brilliant.

I am with AOG on this - didn't think Rolf was very good. In fact I think it is time to end the guest panellists - it is too much about their personality and not so satirical.

If they don't want to bring back Angus, then I would suggest someone like Martin Brigstocke or Dara O Brian (sp?) - maybe even David Gorman. Needs to be someone with a very quick wit and good political knowledge.

(and incidentally I thought Charlotte Church was the worst presenter ever - even worse than Blessed).
