Is it just me or is Peter Barlow's son in Corrie rather odd looking? He kind of looks like a Vulcan child, but seems older than he is, like a small man.

oi, that's my son you're talking about!
i always knew these soaps were being broadcast from outer space lmao
Hey V, I was thinking the same thing. Wonder if there's a shortage of child actors or summat, 'cos that little lad just doesn't look right for the part - that's what I think anyhoo.

Theres something a bit sinister looking about him. I could see him as the dwarf in the read hooded anorak in that film Don't Look Now, starring Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie.

Just saw him in a Rice Crispies (or similar) advert where the child is counting the rice in the dish. Strange looking child and, remembering what Lucy looked like, I would never have chosen him to play the child of Lucy and Peter.

Laugh at Velvetee. You have a good point about Don't Look Now!
he looks jewish. As bad as when Frank Butchers daughter Janine was Pakistani
A vulcan?
A dwarf?
A strange jewish boy?

That is no way to talk about sara's son, she must be mortified. We all think our own children are beautiful.

He has very soulful eyes....
I presume Sara is joking. I hope Sara is joking :o(
Also in last nights episode im sure they said he had been brought up in Australia and only recently returned to England, yet he has a strong UK accent?
Question Author
I thought the same Louise, he had a Northern accent, but was raised in Australia, you'd think they'd get him to learn an Aussie accent beforehand.
He can't help the way he looks.
I think the lad is cute.
I agree tigger, the lad can't help the way he looks, I just think he looks wrong for the part.

If I remember correctly, his mum was pale-skinned and blonde. So he looks nothing like his mum. And nothing like his dad either.

I reckon they could have cast an actor who was a bit more convincing.

Actually Pickle I have to disagree. Corrie has some damn fine actors and respected members of the acting fraternity have acknowledged this and actually requested to make guest appearances.

There have been a few mistakes lately, but the good actors completely outnumber those mistakes (Kym Ryder and her two Corrie sons for example).
Hey Mr. Pickle ...... When I mentioned that they could have cast an actor who is more convincing, I wasn't referring to the youngster's acting ability.

I meant that he looks .... err ..... well, a different nationality to his parents. Perhaps that's just me, and my telly's settings need adjusting! lol.
I now feel rather guilty about saying this child is strange looking, etc. He is someone's little boy and he has something sweet about him too. He is just unusual looking and memorable - so I came on here to say sorry.
I should think so too Lottie, now go & eat woms!

The little boy is wrong for the part I must agree
I think he's quite sweet but he almost looks mixed race, I don't see how he could, believably, be the product of Lucy and Peter.

Janine was Turkish not Pakistani LOL!

I think little Simon is cute, but his eyes worry me - they look like they will burst from his head.

I think there must be a shortage of child actors, I mean, who in their right mind would have hired Eastender's Ben if there were other child actors around?
