Did anyone see this doc on Boy George lastnight. I've always thought he was really up himself but this showed a different side to him and I dont even think it was just for cameras. He was always giggling and that bit in the lift when he said Elton John would have caused a scene was so right. What did anyone else think to him?

I like Boy George as a person. Not fond of his music but as an individual I do think he is a bit of fun. I think that people view of him is a bit led by the media who are just happy to pick on him. I read his autobiography a few years ago and it does give a very different side to him. Down to earth and very sensitive.
i have and always will love boy george. He has the most amazing voice.(victims and time, clock of the heart) I went to see culture club in the mid 80's and they were superb as you would expect. The bit of that programme that i couldnt get over was when he was told culture club were reforming without him! wtf..... withought George, how can there be a culture club? He is unique and although he has had his problems, he is a lovely man who's honesty is refreshing.
I feel that he is quite sensitive and that the break up with john moss really hit him hard and the way he has behaved since has an awfull lot to do with it . I do hope he can find someone who will really care for him as he really is a genuine nice bloke

Yer that John Moss thing really shocked me, I didnt know anything about Georges past. Seems like John is a bit of a coward and is ashamed about his sexuality.
do you really want to hurt me was written about Jon Moss and George never wanted it releasing because it was so personal to him. I cant believe how much i fancied Jon Moss at the time. Glad i didnt know then at 13 what i know now!!! lol

wouldnt matter unruliejulie, well it doesnt to his new wife and kids!!
it would have at that age though 4getmenot! Must have been a phase then lol
I used to know George - not well, but I have been with him a few times socially and he is a seriously witty bright guy, and a very talented musician. I was astounded he got into smack, but not at all surprised he came through it. i think he has his demons, and the press love to pick on him when he goes off on one. The world is still a richer place with him in it.

So did you know him a long time ago Andy?
hear hear andy.
I met George once (way back in 1983) and was astounded at how tall he is..he is HUGE! mind you I am only 5'2"...

I found him to be a lovely guy. He is honest about everything, but also has sensitivity there too. A brilliant talented guy.

I thought 'Karma Chameleon' was written about his relationship with Jon Moss..I suppose there could be several songs written about that, eh? he was obviously experimenting at the time, whilst George was smitten.
Hi 4getmenot. Yes it was in the '80's. I interviewd him when Culture Club were on the college circuit, and we got along really well, so we met several times, and for several interviews in the intervening years.

Pippa68 is quite correct, he is a BIG bloke, not only tall, but really hefty - you wouldn't call him names if he was near enough! He also has beautiful luminous green eyes and his make-up is always perfect.
Yes andy ~ he is a hefty guy :o) you are right, his make up was fantastic & to be honest the only time I saw him looking rough was in the newspaper following his drug arrest a few years back.

He was a guest DJ at our local watering hole about 6 years ago ~ unfortunately I couldn't get in as the place was heaving! I wouold love to see/hear him at the decks.
