Me and my friend have just booked a long weekend in the Lakes next weekend (Friday to Monday) and we have found a lovely B & B that allows dogs and is close by to lovely walks. Really can't wait, I am SO looking forward to a change of scenery after all the many months of lockdown. Roll on next weekend !

Thanks pixie,

DT - Keswick.
Lovely area, enjoy. x
Have a lovely time BShirley
Sounds lovely. One question, do your dogs adjust easily to staying somewhere else ? We are pondering going away for a few days with our 9 month old Bichon. But I am a bit concerned how she would handle it.
Love the Lakes , have a lovely time

Samuraisan - I have never had any problems with taking my dogs away, the one I have now and others in the past. They all fully enjoy the adventure and the new 'smells' when out on walks. They also enjoy the trip down there as well whether by car or train. I can't speak for your little dog of course, but from MY experience it has never been a problem and being a dog lover enhances the trip for me.

Thank you all for your good wishes. I can't tell you how excited I am ! I love the Lakes and haven't been for what seems an absolute age.
We've stayed in Keswick, it's beautiful, enjoy!
Lucky you...I really hope the sun shines for you.
Sam, as long as your dog's with you that is the important thing to them. Take her bedding and toys with you and I'm as sure as I can be she'll be fine.
Shirley I feel like you when I'm going to the Yorkshire Dales. Have a wonderful time and would like to hear all about it if you feel so inclined.

It is a lovely area and there are nice pubs to eat in the evening which also allow dogs, but if the weather's good (fingers crossed) we will probably sit outside.

I will, unless it rains every day lb ! We'll still enjoy it though, as will my friend, we so need a break and our dogs don't care if it rains !
We were just talking about that yesterday. I love the lakes. When we went a swan sat on my lap, so tame.
its somewhere ive never been. i am just planning a trip, but not there.
Has to be the Dog & Gun....well worth a drink if not more - and, surprise, they love dogs.
How nice! Have a lovely time, Shirley. I'm sure your doggie will be very happy. He'll be with you!!! x

Thanks for the tip DT, it's one of the things I like about the Lakes, an awful lot of pubs allow dogs and in all the times I've been in the past, I have never seen a badly behaved dog, there is always such a happy vibe.

Thanks naomi, my little dog is a she called Jill and she's in for a treat x
I'm a great fan of the countryside to the east of the M6 up there....places like Dent, Kirkby Lonsdale, Sedbergh, Ravenstonedale, Hawes and Kirkby Stephen - less tourists around, beautiful countryside and walks - and some really nice pubs and small hotels..such as
