regarding my taxi journey the other day, i did speak with them yesterday, told them he was late, and they have agreed to refund my waiting time money, i know its only a small sum, but
felt that i was right to press them.
Sorry but I just think its not on to demand a couple of pounds refund cos a cabbie was a bit late. Especially when that cabbie probably needs the money. The original fare seemed quite reasonable to me, especially if she is in London.
From the original post he arrived a bit late -took her somewhere waited for her and drove her back. 30 minute round trip for £14.50? She said he waited 3 minutes for her, he said it was 7 minutes -and they only charged £3.50 for waiting...come on.....
APG, he didn't drive her back. It was a one way trip. She got the bus back - and he said he waited for her for 7 minutes outside her home - which is what she was charged for. I've seen no mention of 3 minutes.
I don't understand the cab driver charging Emmie for waiting for her to get into the cab from her house. I don't live in the UK, but over here you don't become a fare until you enter the cab which is when the driver starts the meter running. They will only charge waiting-time if you make one or more stops during your trip and ask them to wait.
I've never heard of being charged waiting time before the journey starts either, Sanmac. Initially I assumed the cab waited for Emmie whilst she attended her appointment and then took her back home - but I was mistaken. It was a one way trip.
APG you are wrong, it was a one way trip to a doctor appointment where i had to be on time, the original quote was £14.55 which i accepted, i wasn't late, he was however. For a 15 minute journey i accepted the initial fare, but not being charged for something that wasn't my fault. I have used them before plenty of times, and
quite honestly i would use them again. I don't expect them to bar me from their books. The company apologised and refunded the extra money.
