yes, the first thud of fireworks was in the air round here last night, though not very close. There was a water leak on the road so I let the water board know via their website. They were very good about it, called me twice to say what they were doing. If only they'd mentioned they were going to cut off our water while they did it... Anyway, it's back now but the corner's got barriers all round it as they won't be repairing the road surface till next week.

Fireworks have been going off for a couple of nights but not too loud....yet.

Well I seem to have buffered up my kettle. I tried to descale with white vinegar which worked up to a point but not completely and now I get lots of bits when I boil it. Either I treat it again or buy a new one. It is an old and cheap one, bought in emergency and has lasted for years. Typical. In the meantime I'll use water out of the cauldron, I'm sure visitors won't notice the odd eye of toad and leg of bat floating in their tea.

I nipped into my hairdresser to see if they could fit me in. "Not without an appointment!" And they are going away tomorrow for 2 weeks. I'm the one who advertises their business cos people like my hair!! I am annoyed and maybe will venue to the cheap Chinese hairdresser to spite them!! That'll teach them, but what if they bu44er it up!

There's nothing worse than a funeral on a cold and dank day. Yes have a stiff drink shaney (!). I just shouted at Mr N for coming home late, oops he didn't, I just confused the hour. He's having cous cous I'm having boiled eggs.

Can you believe it!! I have a lakeland egg boiler and it was buzzing away. Toast all buttered and soldiered, I lifted the lid of the egg boiler and no dammed eggs in there. I had forgotten to put them in. Honestly not having a good evening. Anyway all eaten and cleared up now. Bathed and in pj's and Mr N esconced in the bedroom and me in the lounge waiting for Corrie etc. Happy days.

Just seen the first real firework display from my front window. Lovely they were too. Listening to Craig Charles on Friday night is Music Night.8 until 10 Lovely programme as well. All Halloween type. He has written a poem called Scary Fairy set to music. He wrote it for his daughters. Brilliant!
