Just been reading the Daily Mirror, and the front page news............ Killer Pitbull Owner is a convicted Drug Dealer!!......... well suprise suprise eh?? NOT.
This uncle 23 year old Kiel Simpson appears to have revelled in terrorising locals by letting this beast off its lead to frighten people, and was seen laughing with a mate hours after his NEICE had been butchered by his 'pet' killer dog! makes you want to set a similar animal on him and THEN see how big and brave he is??

I wouldn't want my kids anywhere near this dog - let alone being in the same house as it.
There is more than one person to throw the stick at here - the whole family would have known that dog was dangerous and it beggars belief that anyone would approve of having their child near one of these dogs. Yes the dogs owner should be brought to book - but lets share this responsibility and make sure that everyone connnected is investigated thoroughly - if there's no nice aunties or mums and dads to shelter these animals when their owners are out at the pub - the owner would think twice about having one - or it should be locked up in a cage or put down.

yes i agree with all youve said, and i really feel for the childs parents, however what really annoyed me, was the total lack of remorse that the wa**er whose dog it was had shown in light of the tragic loss of his little neice.

Curlyperm, much as I agree that the dog owner guy is a complete irresponsible c0ck not all the blame can be aportioned solely to him.
You say where was he on New Year's Eve - Where were the kid's parents? Why did they think it was OK to leave their child with a dog that had previously attacked a neighbours and a neighbour's dog?
He did not lock that child and granny and vicious dog in a house together. The child's parents left her there.

And I am not condoning the guy's ownership of the dog in anyway. He's obviously a complete waste of space t*sser who should have been put down at the same time as the dog.
I feel that it's a crying shame that this sort of dog (pit bulls, staffs) have been mainly (I'm saying mainly to avoid abuse from any bonafide decent staff owners out there) adopted by the lowest of the low scumbags as a fashion accessory.
I lived on a council estate in Brixton, South London for 2 years and they were the only dog I'd ever see. You'd never see them in the park playing mind, just being toted around by some stupid gang of children.
This problem can't be laid at the feet of proper breeders who thoroughly vet potential buyers. Or Rescue centres who do the same. This is a case of some idiots who buy a b*tch and a dog, breed the hell out of them, dump the female when she�s no longer able to be a puppy machine, inbreed and sell the puppies on to joe public at �50 a pop. And the joe public who buy unfortunately are the from the �must have� walk of life. Must have the dress worn by Leona on the XFactor, must have the trainers worn in such and such film and alas must have that dog. These people aren�t dog owners or dog lovers, they do not vaccinate, they do not insure and they dump them as soon as they become a problem and get a new puppy to screw up all over again. I have visited Battersea Dog�s Home on many an occasion and it�s heartbreaking to see how many Staffs are there.
I would call to bring back dog licensing. The authorities wouldn�t let you foster a child without vetting you, so why can you just buy a dog willy nilly?

Surely the police RSPCA etc. should be looking at unscrupulous dog breeders.
Totally agree with other comments, I remember back to the 80's when all this first started with American pits and even then the were just the latest thing to have if you were young and a partial idiot.

The American pit bull terrier was made popular in the 80s by rappers and hip hop musicians who toted them about like a muscly canine gun.
When you think of the way the music industry rules the trends in clothing, language and even food it is hardly surprising that the influence spread to the "in" pet. Look at the likes of Paris Hilton copycats with their chihuahuas. A far less scary animal but just as frightening a phenomenon.
This is why the laws around dogs must change. We just can't have brain dead pr1cks like Kiel Simpson buying a dangerous dog just to fit in with some scummer pecking order or trend.
