Family member who is currently in Durham is saying that sleet/snow has fallen. Rumour is Scotland/Borders/Northern England could get some this weekend. Met office indicates only a possibility at the moment. Crazy! Forgive my ignorance, is there still some of you dealing with snow/ice conditions. I am hoping where we are, thats the end of it for a while!
Lottie - Of Course, our thoughts are with those in Japan. I would not intend to detract from that situation, we are lucky here in terms of Natural Disasters and shouldnt moan!
Molly - I think I remember a very cold and icy Easter too. I also remember walking around in a T-Shirt during Easter a few years ago. Infact, I have a few family birthdays in March/April and have memories of doing BBQ's in the garden. Strange hey!
Morning Scotman, Radio Scotland travel reports two lorries stuck in Whitburn and another two at Longridge so looks like the birthday party in Lanark that the family were due to travel to will be on hold.
Three inches lying on the road outside our house and more to come according to the BEEB.
It's a timely reminder of just how great all those Christmas ads on TV were though, only nine months to go!!! :D
bloomwood - strange that. My uncle is staying with friends and just put on his Facebook "Bloody freezing, was sleeting when we walked back from pub last night - looks like snow!"
Will find out where he is exactly.
Been chucking it with snow/sleet here in Stirling all morning - Ochil hills are pure white but at ground level, although the grass has a good layer, the streets are soaking rather than thick with snow - it's to last all weekend but hopefully will be fine on the roads - just can't face going back to the problems we had in November/December.
Snow seems to have finished here. Pavements are clear, some still lying on the grassy areas. Hope it keeps away as I have waxed my winter boots and put them away.
