and the vegetable shaped like a rude part of the body !!
I used to enjoy that too
It was very much of it's time though.

The notion of a school-marmish lead presenters, and a team of 'boys' being kept in order seems quite quaint today, and would be unliekly to get airtime. they would certainly need to drop the 'Odd Ode' - not difficult since Cyril Fletcher is no longer with us - but he did talk like an animated listed building.
didnt the credits used to be a big long cartoon drawing of all the presenters ?
I saw Cyril Fletcher play Widow Twanky in pantomime
school-marmish lead presenters... oh, I don't know, Weakest Link? I think the idea still has legs if you do it right.

But I expect the EU has banned rude-shaped vegetables by now.
I loved it, miss stuff lke that and Drop the Dead Donkey.
jno - I think the Ann Robinson schtick is just a put-on, and everyone knows it's a put-on, including her quite obviously.

Esther seemed to do it for real!
"I saw Cyril Fletcher play Widow Twanky in pantomime "

Oh no you didn't!
Oh yes I did lol
sure, andy, but it doesn't matter whether it's real or not - the thing is, the format works. I see B00 in the lead role.
no other show could jump quickly from stories such as
"And sadly Betty lot her life to now heres a carrott shaped like a penis !"

well this is my favourite comment of the day thus far:

"but he did talk like an animated listed building".
I remember little Ben Hardwick. It was so sad when he died.
