Same idea for me, but under a really hot grill, minute or two per side, pepper for me (it's my blood pressure!) and a glass or two of good red
i just bought some ribeye steaks this evening and the instructions on the back say:
pre heat your frying pan over a high heat till very hot, then turn down the heat to medium and cook steaks on each side for 3-4 mins (rare), 4-5 mins (medium) or 6-7 mins (well done). remove from heat and allow to stand for 5 minutes before serving (i think 5 minutes is too long, just a couple does the job).
the timings are the same for grilling too but i much prefer mine fried, far more succulent.
Cook steaks on coals ... Ideal today! (and maybe next few days are gonna be good, too)
The best method for me is three minutes each side on a very hot griddle pan, no fat.

Drink the red wine - don't bother about a sauce!

Put steaks in an ovenproof pot with chopped onion, button mushrooms, 2 cloves of crushed garlic, a teaspoon of mango chutney, pepper, sage and a measure of Irish whiskey. Cover with red wine and cook in the oven on gas 2 or 250°C for about 4 hours. Be careful taking the steaks out as they will fall apart very easily. Serve with boiled potatoes and mixed veg.
Easy, but very tasty!
