mine would not be a claim to fame these days as he is not really remembered, but he lifted the FA Cup and I think the European Cup passed through his capable hands at one time.....is that what you meant? gulp

What do you mean, dot?

I'm not saying on here, but that's a good start MWB! Oh - sorry. I thought you were going to refer to one of the founder families of the champagne empire. : )

Ohh err, pink!

I ran a youth cricket team captained by Michael Vaughan.

I've danced with Miss England. (OK, it was a former Miss England and it was only a barn dance but, for me, it still counts!).

I've been quoted on the front page of the Daily Telegraph (totally out of context, but who cares?)
I don't know what I mean MWB what did you mean? dot exits the thread in confusion

Question Author
Were you Rob or Roy, steg?
Dot:

I haven't got a clue who it was.

Many years ago (in another life) I was one of the organisers of a staff-parent ceilidh at the school where I taught. Somebody brought along a guest who everyone whispered about: "She was Miss England, you know". Later that evening I found myself partnered with her, for a few dozey-does ;-)
I had a few convos with Dwight Yorke in the Living Room in Birmingham when he played for the blues. A friend of a friend was thinking of buying his Uncle's golf course in Tobago and so we were chatting about that.
you choose

This isn't a claim to fame but I'm very proud of myself.......

She survived but I never heard from her again. But that's ok.

Zoe Spink was from Sowerby Bridge Chris (lived across from my Grandparents) did she have a Yorkshire accent?
Well done, MWB.

Along with a fellow first-aider, I helped save the life of a 14-year-old pupil who had severed an artery in his arm when he fell through a wired plate glass door (while his mates were chasing him with a can of 'fart spray'!).

The only communication either of us had from his parents was via their solicitor, seeking to find ways to sue either us or the education authority!
