Comic Relief?

I have been watching Comic Relief on and off tonite but havent seen any comedians.
Why do non-comedians like Take That, Cheryl Cole,Denis Van Outen, Ronan Keating populate these shows?

Comic relief - dictionary definition - the interruption of a serious work, especially a tragedy , by a short humorous episode. The inclusion of such comic scenes, characters, or speeches can have various and complex effects, ranging from relaxation after moments of high tension to sinister ironic brooding.

Anyone can make a comic moment. That's what so great about it for fundraising. Anyone can do it from toddlers to adults. Having fun, bringing fun and assistance to others less fortunate.

but do you not think they are losing their way? the cause is of course extremely worthy but the point is that the fundraising is supposed to be based on comedy and imho climbing kilimanjaro isnt comedy.

If anything, I'd rate last night's show as the best so far. No farting around by so-called comedians. cept maybe Jonathon Ross.
Even my non-believer other half enjoyed what he saw.
