How do you unwrap yours?

haysi's thread on wrapping has got me thinking. How do you open your presents? Do you do it slowly taking time and care or do you just rip into it as quickly as possible?

I take my time, quickly working out what it is so if its something I hate I can act like I like it..

lol haysi, it drives me made when people go deliberately slow!

I always have to have a feel first (oo-er missus) to try and work out what it is.

Do you have a fake smile cazzz to hide how you really feel when its something you dont like? I know I do! lol

cazzz's answer is very sweet, and true-time to prepare the "I love it, thank you so much, just what I always wanted" face!

I only open presents in front of my partner, and I always like what he gets me (well, more often than not!) so I suppose my face hasn't been used really. I just have to practice the voice, for my thank you calls!

we swop pressies if we dont like them, just sold a load of unwanted on ebay, made �200, and told my family!!! they love it!!! its almost a tradition!!!!!

Lol to cazz's post when i read the question I was thinking exactly the same thing, i have to have time to get my fake chuffed face together, i know it's horrid but i'm sure everyone has the need to do it at least once at christmas!

well in honesty, I dont really need gifts, I love watching the kids opening theirs and Im happy with anything, the look that my face may unwittingly reveal on opening would be a huh? whats that type of lip curl.

And people are quite contious of what they have bought you so when you pick up the gift and go to open it, look at their face, its normally a picture of pure joy and excitement waiting for you to reveal the gift. if you look anything other that happy they feel like they have failed.

most of the time its a lovely gift, but people can read into expressions wrongly because of their stress at whether they got it right!

Im in between leelapops, after trying to work out what it is, I open the ends then the middle, carefully but not too slow.

Bob, Im a bit like that too. I like to see my daughter unwrap every single one of her presents.

cazzz, I find it helps if I can suggest a time or place when the gift would be useful or mention a nice place for it to go, depending on what it is.

Lol potterfan - I agree! if you rip all the paper off and discard it, you often don't know which tag belongs to what - or indeed who sent what present!

I take care to open it trying to keep it intact as much as I can , and to give it the same consideration it had when it was being wrapped, even though it will be in the wheely bin with all the wrapping paper and cracker hats the next day .:-) xxx

I usually take my time, that way it lasts longer. I love getting pressies :))

But i get more joy out of watching my kids faces. I used to find it funny when they got all excited about the presant and wanted it quickly out the box......so that they could play with the empty box :)

Im like you lou in that I love watching my daughters face as she opens hers. Although I love getting presents myself, I really do get something out of giving now. I always feel pleased when Im sat wrapping up the gifts I have bought for others. Dont know why lol
