Because that is the correct way to pronounce it, rather than the Anglicised Ar-med we usually hear. I believe the gentleman concerned has expressed a wish that his name be pronounced properly, but I can't confirm that because I don't watch BB, I'm going off something I heard in the office today.

That's the arab pronounciation. In the subcontinent it's always pronounced Aeh-mud (where 'Aeh' sort of rhymes with 'Air' without the 'r')

Yes but on the videos recorded before they went in, he calls himself Ar-med.
