Has anone else heard the rumour going around , that in Deal or No Deal, there is no banker as such and that on the other end of the phone is a group of experts from William Hills the bookmakers who quickly work out the odds and someone ab libs until the offer is arrived at. and then he makes out it is his!

That's right petal flower. It was on a "making of the show " type programme. That's all they would say though.

Not heard that rumour Pudcat but I did post back in January about who the Banker is.

...Ex-Corrie actor Glenn Hugill has been revealed as the voice of the banker in Noel Edmonds Show Deal or No Deal. Glen played Alan McKenna, the copper boyfriend of hairdresser Fiona Middleton (played by Angela Griffin).

Mind you it has been running for a while now, so who knows who really is the voice on the other end of the phone ;o)

I overheard two men discussing this on the tube about a month ago then I was in a sweetshop in Fulham last Tuesday and two other guys were saying much the same thing and I rather think that at least one of them was an actor judging by their previous conversation.
