I have so many favorites, it's hard to choose! Probably... dazed and confused. It reminds me that life can be fun. cheers me up when i'm bored and depressed. actually i think i'll watch it tonite, seeing as i m bored
It has to be "The Glenn Millar Story" with James Stewart.

Great music and story.
an american werewolf in london ,
Three stand out for me The Inn of the Sixth Happiness with Ingrid Bergman. Pretty Woman and And Officer and a Gentleman. I love happy endings.
I'm a bit of a softie. My two favourite all time films are "Somewhere in Time" with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour, and "Star Trek: Generations" because I am a huge fan of Star Trek TNG.

I really enjoyed "The Lake House" this year because it had aspects of "Somewhere in Time".
pebbles, that is such a fantastc film. i sob buckets at the end when they play little brown jug on the radio. :-(
Twelve angry men
Rear window
Its a wonderful life

love all three of these but cant pick a favorite
Sexy Beast with Ray Winstone and Ben Kingsley.
The Godfather. Perfect script, sublime acting, beautiful photography.
Rear Window - good call.
From dusk till dawn.
Duel (Spielberg's first film)
For me it has to be 'Congo'

Watched it last night on Film 4. I was moved to tears. The narrative was just spot on. The cute and cuddly gorilla, authentic african scenery, the camps in real african jungles, the sad moments when the gorilla had to leave its human friend for its own kind and the part where the lead heroine lasers a tree to fall in the path of the male lead so he can escape a raging lava flow was so authentic it was believable. Why dont they make more films like that. When the credits rolled, the parents of the names on the film would be so proud of their children for creating this masterpeice.

The Mission impossible series come a close second in my opinion.
I am a old romantic and although very cheesy choices I have to say Dirty Dancing, Top Gun and Jerry Maguire are all joint favourites of mine.
I have two. 'The Empire Strikes Back', and Sergio Leone's 'For a few dollars more'
Katy131, 'Somewhere in time' is excellent.
'It's a Wonderful Life' and 'Shawshank Redemption'
classic Arnie, Total Recall !!
