Long shot, perhaps, but something that has been driving me nuts for a while...

Some(?) years ago a man was arrested and charged with something(?) and found guilty (got a prison sentence)... but he got some kind of 'let off' after some(?) time.

See? A long shot!

It was well documented at the time. News, papers, everywhere. It was a massive story... but can i remember it? No!

I want to call him 'Colin'. He was a weedy little thing when he came out and lots of people felt sorry for him and his mistreatment but he had been a bit 'thug-ish' looking when he was charged. Does this help?!

Samms? Sands? It began with an 'S' i'm sure, but when i Googled those, it did not help, so i've obviously got it all wrong!

It might have been murder.

It was def something horrid.

And it's driving me to distraction trying to remember his name and what he did/did not do.

Help...?

Excellent link ACW. Thankyou.

(Had to give crete a star for trying.)
A similar case with rather more unfortunate consqeuences was that of Stefan Kiszko - a Web search will bring up more information. The police and judiciary should hang their heads over that one. Terrible business.
oh im all excited now great outcome though.
Do I get stars for reading this?? lol I was gona say Colin Stagg before this lot beat me to it - honestly!!

Blimey, you're easily pleased!
Hi fee, i have not long read a book about Colin Stagg and the entrapment by a female police officer. He has offered since to give his DNA to prove once and for all thats hes innocent. personally, i think he is innocent of Rachel Nickells murder. Still, a weirdo but that doesnt make you a murderer does it?
Question Author
Eeeeek LMU... if that were the case, half of AB would be murderers!
lol fee, i thought that when i wrote it!!!!! I just didnt like to say!
Hi fee,

Glad you gave warpig some stars as he first mentioned Colin Stagg...

On reading your Q, my first thoughts were on Michael Sams (you said Samms), who was a kidnapper, extortionist, murderer amongst other things...was jailed for kidnap and rape...some believe he had something to do with Suzy Lamplugh's disappearance...

Sams is a weedy little one-legged man, who has caused no end of trouble in prison, attacking a probation officer being one of them...
n00dles, I am a girlie, although not a girlie girl;-o)

Duly noted Ms warpig! (I wish everyone would state their sex so easily!)

Hi n00dles - yes, i think half of me little confused brain was also thinking about him! Was he the one who kidnapped Stephanie Slater?

Or is that yet another one to ponder over...?!
