I know Groucho Marx, Tony Hancock, and Tommy Cooper were reknowned for their great comedy one liners, but can you recommend any other classic personalities and their literary contributions (Fictitious characters are allowed too, eg, Black Adder). Thanks Jason.

If you see Mae West in any of her films, they are full of wonderful witty one liners, as well as innuendos. Besides being very funny, she also wrote her own screenplays and managed to get around the censorship of the 1930s
