Is she a product of BBC becoming politically correct?

She is a fat, ugly, dykey, pseudo-plumby annoying presenter with no knowledge of anything sportsworthy.

Am I alone in this character assassination, or does anybody actually like her?

I'm guessing you don't like her much then WM ? Sue Barker is the one who drives me mad!

Come on Wardy don't beat about the bush, say what you mean.

One thing I have noticed is that nearly all sports have started using girly presenters, must be the fashion.

I have seen her a few times. I dont have much of an opinion on her. But I dont see how anyone can judge someone and call them fat, ugly or a dyke. Whats wrong with being a dyke?? People come in all sizes and there is no such thing as perfect. To some people her looks may come over as beautiful.

thats the thing tho Mr Loosehead. She is not girly. Sue Barker has a degree of sex appeal (I think she has had botox) and that scottish lass off the snooker is fine.

Suzie from the moto GP (Forget her surname) and of course Gabby Yorath (forget her married name) is pure class.

But Claire bad-hair Balding is simply foul. I hope she retires soon or becomes a weird purple wearing son of jesus weirdo like her brother David Ike

I'm unsure whether your dislike of Ms Balding is due to her physical appearence, her sexuality, or simply her gender.

I would dispute her 'no lnowledge of anything sportsworthy' - coming from the Balding racing family, she has been a champion rider at amateur and professional levels, and is obviously well-versed in the training and racing of horses.

I think she is an excellent presenter, with a natrual style and affinity for people in interviews, so yes, I do actually like her, but then I try not to judge people on appearences.

Mr Hughes of my 6 descriptives only two, fat and ugly, are based on appearances. I therefore do not base opinions on such matters.

Besides, horse racing/riding is not a sport in MY opinion.

So fat and ugly make her a bad person??
I like her.

I think you are being deliberately provocative.

A glamour or fashion model needs to be thin and good-looking.

A sports presenter needs clarity of speech, good pronounciatoin and a knowledge of sport, all of which Claire Balding has.

Well,I'm guessing, thats you off her Christmas card list then Wardy?
Question Author

We don't have vegetarians promoting the british meat industry. We don't have environmentalists promoting BP Oil. We don't have Rose West editing Mother and Baby magazine. Therefore we should not have fat people presenting sport.

She can't help being ugly, that's her genetics. But her being fat is her life style choice.

Her being fat and ugly do not make her a bad person at all, who said that??? But it makes her unacceptable for sports TV. I do not wish to watch a sweating, foul, short-haired, squat, grotesque looking presenter.

Probably 97 percent of sport is watched by men so therefore some eye candy would be preferable.

Further as Ms Balding is funded by me, the license payer, she is hardly a business commodity is she? I can't see the Scandinavians wanting to look at piles of pasty white flesh stuck to her man-hating bones.

There is no room for the likes of her on the BBC.

Question Author
having said that, I am sure she could do "Netball UK"
And are you saying these 97% of men that watch sport are all thin. She doesnt play sport she presents it and has deep knowledge of it. Thats like saying all fat lager drinking louts shouldnt watch football as it is a sport. Fatima Witbread was quite a large lady but she was a legend in her field. And you say she cant help being ugly, what exactly is your definition of ugly because some people may find her attractive. Are you yourself stunning??
Question Author

4getmenot, you miss my point entirely.

I am not presenting a sport of mainstream TV.

Football presenters, i.e Lineker, Hansen etc are on the whole attractive gentlemen.

And where does this "deep knowledge" come from? She studied English at Uni and has no credentials herself. Big deal, her folks come from a riding history. My father was a Commander in the Royal Navy. I can't sail a ship for the life of me!!!

my definition of ugly is this

Ms Balding is the one of the left. The slightly less masculine one.

Myself stunning??? Nothing too special, but what's that got to do with it??

My definition of ugly is

And on a side note, I am not dissing fat people. with the few exception of people with thyroid problems, fatness is a lifestyle choice.

I have no sympathy for them at all. and yes they deserve to be ridiculed and poked fun at.

I gather by you posts 4getmenot you may be struggling with the pounds. Simple, eat less, excerise more. Hey presto!!!!

No not at all. But I have plenty of large friends. And most are entirely happy that way. I cant see whats wrong with being fat and really at what size is fat? Claire Balding is hardly obese. But then ive actually realised Wardy-Minter is the same obnoxious so and so that entered the stupid post about Burning Ian Huntley's mum and many more posts just to wind people up. I cant see many people really agreeing with you. But hey ho nice to have a debate about something. even if it was a **** question :-)
Ward-Minter? That sounds plumby to me.
Ah yes and minter must be a bit thinner than a munter :-)
Question Author

Yes my american friend. I am very well spoken and only a hyphen away from nobility. I abhor the masses with a passion.

Well 4getmenalot, I can assure you on my childrens lungs, that your fat friends are NOT happy being large. A lot of porkies say that when in reality they are hurting. The nore they hurt the more they eat. The more they eat the more they hurt. It is a cop out.

There is nothing wrong being fat, as i said it is a life style choice. But I do not want to see fat people on the TV presenting sport (except darts)

4getmenot, you really need to stop judging people and perhaps be more liberal in your outlook than me. You will find the world a nicer, less hostile environment.

Question Author

PS for a doris, i guess anything over a size 12 is pushing it a bit.

Then again even a 12 can make their bottom seem a bit big can't it?

Question Author
Further further, a munter means lively or is an old naval knot???? Sorry, I know we are different ends of the social scale but I fail to see humour. Am i missing something?
