What do you reckon?  I found it boring and Steve Coogan looked and sounded like...  Steve Coogan!  Not sure if I will bother with the rest of the series.

Have you ever heard Steve Coogan speak? If he looked and sounded like that he'd have people coming up to him and accusing him of being Savile.
I thought it was intriguing and Coogan's portrayal is extraordinary.

The question I asked in the other thread was how do we know Savile's mother thought of him as she obviously does in the series? She's not fooled apparently.

I don't think I'll bother with the rest of the series. It's just highlighting how despicable he was. Must never happen again.

I'm not sure Ichy. I don't know if she kept diaries or anything. I was always of the impression that she doted on Savile, but maybe it was only the other way round.

More likely, it's a plot device to paint her in a more favourable light and demonise Savile further (as if he needs that)

From the tiny bits I've seen it's worthwhile because it highlights and shames the enablers that knew about it but let it continue.

That is what must never happen again.

I've now watched the first episode. It's well made and Coogan's performance is brilliant, but I won't bother watching the rest.

Knowing that he gets away with his crimes is what makes it too disturbing to watch. It would be alright if we knew justice was ultimately done, but it wasn't.

I have not watched it. I would be amazed if it names and shames.

It doesn't name and shame Gromit, but the underlying theme is that people who knew what was happening didn't do enough to stop it, for whatever reason.

Anyone watching it will surely come away determined to never be the person that could act but doesn't.

It shames that attitude, which is why I say it's worthwhile.
