Along with 'Strictly', I abandoned Bake Off a long time ago, lottie - and if he's in it now there's no chance of me watching again.
Celebrities can become over exposed and I think this has happened with TA. However, when he occasionally takes over from G Norton on Virgin radio, he's very 'dry' and witty.
'Then you also appear to believe that 'showbusiness' is some sort of hermetically sealed bubble where only gay and gay-friendly people live, and they never have the tiresome trouble of actually interacting with the wider world where homophobia is rife.'

MissT didn't say anything of the kind, AH. You're guilty of committing the 'offence' you were criticising just a few days ago when you wrote 'Stating something a poster did not say, in order to criticise him for it'.

More than a little hypocritical.
I just agreed with what Naomi said Zac. So it was aimed at both of us. And then we got the long waffle. I just couldn't be bothered to wade through.
Indeed. If AH wasn't so pious in his criticism of the 'So' rule (not that there is or ever was one except in his own mind) I wouldn't have commented myself.
Zacs - // 'Then you also appear to believe that 'showbusiness' is some sort of hermetically sealed bubble where only gay and gay-friendly people live, and they never have the tiresome trouble of actually interacting with the wider world where homophobia is rife.'

MissT didn't say anything of the kind, AH. //

I didn't suggest that she did.

My post starts with the caveat 'Then you appear to believe that ...' which clearly indicates that I am not trying to suggest what Ms T said.

That would be difficult, since she didn't actually say anything, she merely agreed with a previous post.

// You're guilty of committing the 'offence' you were criticising just a few days ago when you wrote 'Stating something a poster did not say, in order to criticise him for it'. //

As explained, I did not state something a poster did not say, since the poster did not say anything in the first place, I merely speculated on what she may have meant with her endorsement of a previous post.
MissT - // And then we got the long waffle. I just couldn't be bothered to wade through. //

I take it that means you don't wish to debate the reasons for your agreement?

Fair enough.

If you change your mind, I'm happy to discuss your view with you any time.

I never thought so many of you would agree with me.

thank you JJ
You’ve obviously got good taste, JJ. ;o)
I can't watch anything with Tom Allen in it. Not because he's gay - virtue signalling there - but because I don't find him even slightly funny. Same with Joe Wilkinson, who makes my skin crawl.
Andy: 'Then you also appear to believe that.....'

Me: MissT didn't say anything of the kind, AH.

You: I didn't suggest that she did.

So what do you believe is her opinion on gay people in the media?
Zacs, MissT will offer her opinion if and when she chooses to do so, when it will be available for you, me, and everyone else who is interested.

I'm not sure why you think I have any interest in guessing her views, but to clear up any misunderstanding, I don't.
I think that many gay people in the media exaggerate their gayness and don't give a damn. I think they're very proud to be gay and I don't know why because I don't advertise the fact that I'm hetrosexual. I don't care about anyone's sexuality. We're all different. I'm sick of wokeness.
MissT - The reason why a proportion of gay people make an issue of bring proud of their orientation, is because they have grown up in a culture that has gone to considerable lengths to make them ashamed of it.

Liaisons between consenting males were only made legal a few decades ago.

The reason why you, and I, don't need to be 'proud' of our orientation, is because we are fortunate enough to have been born into a society that takes the way we are, and the people we love, completely for granted.

We have never encountered prejudice and violence for being who we are, and we should be very grateful for that.

The entertainment industry has always been a haven of acceptance for gay people, even though they had to be very discreet until the law changed.

Fortunately, as a society, we are slowly moving towards more tolerance and less fear of people who are different from us.

But until acceptance is simply standard, a proportion of gay people will ensure that they wear their pride and refusal to be intimidated or ostracised, publicly.

It may not suit everyone's ideas of behaviour, but that is the reason for it.
Yawns wide, stretches and decides, okay, one more beer in case something else appears.
I agree - can't stand the man/woman/him/her/they. Do we know why Rhys did not take part in the Dubai task? That Karen Brady and her eye rolling gets to me. She does not know how to smile, except in a derisory manner. How can Sugar fire someone has has not hired?
MissT, the majority will assume you are heterosexual on first meeting you, it is their default setting.
I am sure you would correct anyone who assumed you were gay
AH, the campest and most 'out' gay people in showbiz circles weren't born when it became legal to be homosexual.
Barry - And your point is?
Stargazer - Lord Sugar did not 'fire' the departing contestant who was absent, he merely advised that he had left the Process.

And none of them are 'hired' until the Final, when Lord Sugar offers his support and partnership to the winner.
