They are truly abysmal, Patti Clare ( Mary ) is a joy to watch but being a Joan Crawford in the ridiculous storyline is stupid

She overacts at the best of times, but this is stupidity at it's finest.
I had better resign my writing job then......
Question Author
I like her in her comedy role but his is beyond the pale Sharon
Lots of double entendre, don't know how she gets away with it
Question Author
So it’s your fault DT? :0))
I enjoyed it. She makes me laugh.
Question Author
She makes me laugh too Chrissa but the storyline is ludicrous
They've always been like that
I don’t watch it but I read that it’s been taken over by the ‘woke’ and, not unsurprisingly, is suffering for it.

It certainly looks that way Naomi , that said ,I like the way they’re handling the Darius racist story , what a fine young actor he is
I haven’t seen it for years, bobbi. The last I saw Cilla and her husband - was he Les? - were playing some silly trick about a wedding. That’s when I gave up.
I stopped watching the soaps years ago as the story lines were becomming stupid. Believe me I did perserver with them but in the end enough was enough.
I gather it's gone all 'poash' now as in a 'ya' pronunciation of posh....
'Woke' or relevant? Over the years we've had affairs, divorce, bigamy, teenage pregnancy with child raised by mum, teenage pregnancy with adoption, infertility, surrogacy, female rape (Toyah was superb in this harrowing episode), male rape, prostitution, drugs, alcoholism, stalking, hostage, grooming, domestic violence, bigamy, many murders, obsession, modern slavery, bullying, disability, great marriages, bad marriages, the difficulties of learning BSL, organ transplants...

When I first started watching Corrie I was shocked at women brawling in the street. I have still never seen that happen in real life. It seemed far fetched even then, but here I still am, enjoying Corrie.

I like the way Corrie deals with difficult and current issues
Question Author
That’s very true Barry,I remember the classic street brawl with Elsie Tanner always fighting with some other woman, No, I’ve not seen that ever in my lifetime either
^
You've never seen women brawling in the street. You have led a sheltered life :-)
Question Author
No, Ken,I haven’t ,truth
Commonplace round my way - particularly on Mother's Day when they've been at it all day. We used to run a book on which families would be the first to throw punches :-)
Also the scene with children at school lined up to buy Stape's book was so unrealistic. There's no way that wouldn't have been spotted by a teacher
Also in Eastenders when the bloke came in to the pub to see where Linda was. Surely the first thing Mick would have done was to ring her to see where she was
