morning Sunday, a day of rest for some. I hope that you are all in good health and that your day is a pleasant one. Do you any anything planned for today?

I have a phone call from my friend in NI at 10.00, but that's it for the day.

today's forecast for the capital is a lowly 18c with partly sunny skies.

looks like the birdies are all asleep, I Hope Sanmac posts soon, and lets us know he's alright.

I am awake , but only because my sciatica is going through a bad patch right now. Prevents me from sleeping. Until I get so exhausted I just fall off the perch, like a gassed canary. Still mustn’t grumble eh! My plan for today was to replace the sliding door Dometic window in my old vw camper, with help of a grandson or two, but they have pulled out at the last minute, found something more interesting to do. I suspect they are “snowflake millennials” who can’t stand the pace, or maybe they are fed up with all my moaning. The window will have to wait a bit longer.

Not been on this forum for very long, so don’t know who Sanmac is. His silence might be ominous, but could be golden.

Sanmac is a Canadian poster, he had a bad fall and cracked his skull the other day, so i am hoping he will get in touch to say he's ok.

That sounds serious, but you can’t keep a good “canook” down . Let’s hope he is recovering

i hope his sister convinced him to go to hospital, as he bled quite a bit.

Head wounds always bleed dramatically, and as humans have important visual stimuli to faces, they always look scary. If there is skull damage medical attention is vital. I guess it’s the not knowing that’s nipping at you though.

I sympathise. I had two jabs yesterday and discomfort drove me from my bed (flu in one arm, Covid booster in the other)

I know how that feels , although HM QE2 once said “you are as old as you feel” so today I am feeling ancient. Mind you it was giles brandreth (grade A plonker) who asked her the question , something to do with Saga magazine as I remember. Thats how I came across the AB , via the crossword
