Just by way of balance and for anyone daft enough to consider voting Labour: a few days ago Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer described his freeze on energy prices as “fully-funded” adding that the plan was “fully costed”. This was on on BBC Radio 4’s Today Programme (15th August).

Full Fact have commented that of thew £20 billion cost about £2 billion of the £29 billion could be unfunded meaning it would have to be raised somehow (magic money tree presumably).

Full fact also cast doubt as to whether Labour has accurately estimated the number of households which might need help.
