Watching The Titfield Thunderbolt was a bit surprised to see that after all the water containers borrowed from the farm house to fill up the trains water storage tank they were just threw about the place and left on railway track rather than returned to the decent people who allowed them the use of .

Don't remember the plot exactly but weren't they in a hurry to run on time & get an operating licence or summat?

Could have but a few minutes were not gonna make a difference .
Yes...people really weren't that thoughtful back in the day, were they?
I would hope the farmer would have been in favour of the line being still used and not closed.Excellent bit of escapism.

Wonder did the book have them throwing the things on the track or was it done to be funny we will never know .Coming up on 70 years now since it was made .
I doubt I've ever analysed an Ealing Comedy as if it were a documentary.

Good old film.
