//Chiselbury school - wonderful stuff!// I was quite fond of St Trinians. The pupils were outstanding ... as were mine sometimes.

Thank you Mamya
CRACKERJACK! Leslie Crowther and Peter Glaze - Double or Drop. Wonderful stuff. I was a bit older then of course. When I was small there were few choices. Andy Pandy, muffin the Mule and Bill & Ben.
Sings, Bill and Ben, Bill and Ben,... Bill & Ben, Bill& Ben (wait for it) Flowerpot men! Heady stuff in the early 50s.
Trying desperately to remember the 'educational' programme, the Memory Manwas on it and you tried to beat him.
“ Ich, I thought it was Valerie Singleton, him that said “ Get down Shep” and the man on Countryfile :0(((l”

Leila Williams!
I had to look her up,
Then Val and Chris, who were the first I remember
Was it Animal Magic, jourdain?
And 'little weed' Jourdain ??

I liked The Grove Family on Saturdays , a forerunner of todays soaps I guess

Jourdain, it was Kaleidoscope
Never realised Gerald Darrell was a presenter on it.

Wagon Train, now who was in that?
Wally Whyton with Pussy Cat Willum and Muriel Young with Ollie Beak and Fred Barker. Later it was the Huckleberry Hound Show. I loved El Kabong and the sheriff with the racoon.
Help! Help! It's the Wulluf! It's the Wulluf!

Loved It's the Wolf and Tales of the Riverbank. My dad loved Trumpton and Basil Brush
I always remember Ivanhoe starring Roger Moore.
Ianhoe-ho, Ivanhoe, far and wide throughout the countryside they know
There's freedom on his banner, justice on his sword etc etc
I immediately thought of Crackerjack. It was very funny at times.
I am sure this has been mentioned before, but The Singing Ringing Tree.
Almost as scary as Dr Who

And who remembers “The Changes”?
Thanks both, not kaleidoscope - the name Mortimer Wheeler has just sprung to mind.
The Singing Ringing Tree was bonkers. There was a lot of imported chidlren's tv that was badly dubbed - White Horses, Heidi (this version http://www.jedisparadise.com/2/Heidi.htm), Silas, Robinson Crusoe, Tom something or other.

Then those programmes that twisted children's ideas of animals - Skippy, Flipper, Lassie

Children were served a load of old tosh with a few gems
Animal, Vegetable, Mineral, jourdain?
They didn’t even try to dub it!

Just a voiceover commentary!

“Jan said he didn’t think Frantisek and Magda would like finding out their bike had been stolen ... “

There wasn’t a lot else to do sometimes :-)
Of course there was the real, forever, Robin Hood. Archie Duncan (my mum's old playmate) as Little John; then Ivanhoe (Roger Moore) ... you've got me going now!!!!
