Which is when my best friend phones me and we talk for at least 2 hors and often more than that!
Tonight though, she's going to a big Halloween party with her family so I just looked what is on the box tonight and nothing is taking my fancy.
Any recommendations, what will you be watching?

Arky I do like comedy but find some peoples idea of comedy is usually very different to mine.
What sort of comedy do you like, Barsel?
Question Author
Gentle comedy really.
Watched a film a few weeks ago, I think it was called Going in Style.
Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Alan Arkin as 3 old men wanting to rob a bank.
Not hilarious, but amusing, a sort of good feel factor.
Can only think of 2 on the TV and that would be Only Fools etc and Friends, both of course are now repeats.

I’ve never seen Friends but Only Fools and Horses is superb.
I always dismissed Friends when it was first aired but it is funny. I watched OFAH from when the first episode was aired.
I saw this movie many years ago and really enjoyed it...Lots of great British stars in it:
I've been binge-watching 3 seasons of Britannia all week but that's on Sky.

My friend recommended Maid on Netflix so I'm going to try that next.

My daughters got me into watching Friends back in the day.
Didn't like it at first, but it grew on me.
I prefer programmes and films that don't have a lot of swearing in them and these days, those are hard to find.
There was a series on recently that was probably quite funny but far too many F words for me.
That was called Almas not Normal.
I only managed to watch the first one which is a shame.
I enjoyed Maid on Netflix, bit dark though, I don't know what's on freeview but if you had channel 5 at 9pm there's Madame Blanc mysteries, it's easy viewing, Sally Lindsay, wrote, directed and is acting in it, tonight's the 3rd episode and it's easy viewing, my friend thinks it reminds her a little of Death in Paradise
Tigger, just seen you had Maid as a suggestion of something to watch on Netflix, it is good, there are 10 episodes and I thought it was brilliant, a bit slow to get into but I did get drawn into it. good recommendation for you
Yes Ducksie, starting Maid tonight :o)
Question Author
Just watched the Trailer for Maid.
Lots of different emotions, but hopefully it would have a happy ending.
I'm making a note of these on Netflix.
I finished it last night, I would just say, stick with it :)
The scarier the better for me re. scary films (not blood and gore types, more supernatural) and I can watch them with the light off too ! The Awakening sounds really good.

Barsel - did you watch Love is a Many Splendored Thing at all ?
Question Author
I'll stick it for sure if I knew it had a happy ending??????
Question Author
I did Shirley. Didn't cry though but yes a sad ending which I don't like.
When Mr B and I used to go to the pictures, if it had an ending I didn't like, he used to make up a different ending for me on the way home!
Ahhh I think that is so romantic, making up a lovely ending for you :)

You can put all the ????? you like, I give nothing away ;)
Question Author
Lol.
Burleyshirley, I've always loved reading old ghost stories on wet, windy, winter nights. I've got quite a few collections.
Question Author
pasta, I could think of something else I would rather do on those type of night, especially if it was thundering as well.
Unfortunately, those days are gone. :-(
