Went to the cinema to see this film. Timothy Spall at his absolute best. Very sad yet uplifting at the same time. Very little dialogue but would highly recommend it.

Why do you have to spoil my post with a very stupid cartoon mushroom. If you have something to say, start your own post please.
Trailer here:

Don't think there are many things Timothy Spall has been in that are not good. He is a very good actor, one of the best we have. Will have to try and see this one soon.

Thank you Chris
The critics seem not to agree with you about the merits of the film, with both Peter Bradshaw in The Guardian and Simran Hans in The Observer only awarding it two stars, as did Kevin Maher in The Times.

However it looks like the sort of movie I might enjoy if it ever comes up on the box (or if, say, I find a DVD of it going cheap in a charity shop), as it's a quarter of a century since I last went to a cinema and I doubt that I'll be going again very soon!

BTW: 'The Last Bus' will always mean a classic episode of Hancock's Half Hour to me ;-)
Usually if the critics don't rate it, I do. I'll certainly watch it when it comes to tv, Spall is always worth my time.
Agree, Spall is excellent. You can enjoy an actors performance no matter whether the film itself is good or not.
Thanks for posting I ahd not heard about this.
he looks so old (but then again, who amongst us doesnt!)
ok now i watched the trailer and realised he's supposed to :)
lol bednobs I know, I am constantly surprised for some bizarre reason that people I have been watching since Ii was a teen or even a child seem very old!

I went to a gig once with my OH at the time who said oh my god everyone here is over 40!, yes the same age as us.....
That is most definitely one to look out for and to have the tissues ready - a superb actor.
Definitely a film i'll be looking out for. Love Timothy Spall, can't do no wrong in my eyes. Even with his slightly dodgy Belfast accent when portraying Ian Paisley in the excellent 'The Journey'. I echo theshedman's sentiments, he's one of our best.
I will definitely be looking out for it too.
I've seen him in lots of films and his acting is superb.
Love Timothy Spall.
Thanks for sharing, Maggie.
Cartoon mushroom?
Just Google for one Piggy.
Will have to look out for that one, looks really good. Thanks for posting the trailer, Chris.
watched it and liked it, very sad
