I have just had a message on my iPhone warning me that Answerbank is leaking my data and to change my password -whats all that about? It specifically mentioned the Answerbank. I am posting this as well in Chatterbank for more exposure.

Who was the message from?
Question Author
Why has my other thread in Eds Blog been deleted?
Question Author
danny, the message appeared on screen when I opened my phone -I did not have to click a link or message.
Duplicated post.
Did not the message show its origin?
Not who was it from, but which messaging service.
Can’t you retrieve the message by swiping down from the top of the screen?
Question Author
Microsoft. In the settings it showed a yellow triangle with exclaimation mark next to Answerbank. I've lost the message now -it just appeared when I logged on. Answerbank page was not left open on the phone either.
When you logged on to answer bank?
It’s certainly fraudulent
Sounds like a phishing attempt by someone tracking your browsing.
Question Author
No. I opened my phone, did the finger id log in and before my home page appeared, this message appeared. I can't remember the exact wording but it referred to a 'security leak of data through Answerbank'. When I touched the screen it went into settings, showing a list of sites I visit with a yellow warning triangle with exclaimation mark next to Answerbank
Your post in Editor's Blog shouldn't have been deleted. It was exactly the right place for it. There it just might get the Editor's attention.

You should email the editor urgently.

Thank you Naomi -I will do that now.
It’s unlikely Microsoft would know or care about what happens on an iPhone.
Any more than they’d care enough to ring you at home saying there was a problem with your Microsoft computer security - as has happened.

If it was'nt microsoft then it could only be either vodaphone or Safari. The message was there when I logged on. No websites had been left open and I did not click a link nor open a message -it was just there.

I rarely use my phone to access AB -less than once a week. I normally access AB at home on my laptop.
Question Author
...and I add that I access AB using Edge in Private Browsing mode.
Ah well then there is your answer
Edge is a Microsoft browser and the message is therefore from the Edge browser
Messages can only come from apps
Sounds like a scam.
Also someone is very keen on removing Ed blog threads.
I was going to say the same as Naomi about 'duplicated post' how black and white and unable to think for themselves does a mod have to be to delete it from Ed's blog. Of course it should have stayed there.
//Also someone is very keen on removing Ed blog threads.//

Indeed. I had an important thread removed from Editor's Blog - and I suspect APG's was removed by the same over-enthusiastic Mod. Leave 'em alone Mods! You're too often wrong!
