They probably weren’t famous when at school, but what were they like then?

When I was a school prefect, in charge of the school's two libraries, I had a team of younger boys helping me. One of them was a very cheeky, but very likeable, lad called Nicholas Kershaw. I understand he later went into the music business ;-) If you'll count teaching in Sheffield as 'school days', I was in charge of the city's schoolboy cricket teams, as well as...

Hmm, also apparently one former Liverpool and current Derby County player, who also featured in England national U21 etc sides.
Do theologians count? Bad theologians were made to teach us English O level
I know someone whose brother is one of the experts
Alan Ball and Kenneth Wolstenholme, I interviewed Alan for the school magazine in Spring 1966, he was due to play in the World Cup, we went round to his parents' terraced house where he still lived then. His father treated us as though we were from the national press, there all the time and chipped in if he didn't like the questions! We asked him who he thought would win the World Cup and he said England, we laughed all the way home on the bus!

If you'll count teaching in Sheffield as 'school days', I was in charge of the city's schoolboy cricket teams, as well as the South Yorkshire county teams. The Under-15 captain for both was a rather serious young lad called Michael Vaughan. I wonder whatever became of him?
;-)
There was no one famous from my school although one of my teachers was footballer John Salako's mum.
Not personally, but Alan Pardew was a pupil a few years after me, there were a number of minor musicians I believe. Louis de Bernieres taught there, and a couple of ex pupils were actors in minor roles.
Not with him, but Stephen Fry attended the same school a few years after me.

Peculiarly we also share another commonality, we've both appeared in the dock at Swindon magistrate's Court - once again, not at the same time of course :-)
Pixie, my husband knew Jet very well, and did a lot of roadying for The Shadows back in the 60s. I wonder if he knew your dad, too?

(Apologies, theblip. No one famous at my school)
I was at school with Maggi Hambling and my husband with Jasper Carrot !
I was at school with Lloyd Scott, the professional fundraiser famous for walking the marathon in an Antique diving suit as well as other stuff.
I know somebody that went to school, with Molly Duncan (Average White Band), and he also played at the same events as the Kinks amongst others.
I went to the same Secondary School as June Ritchie (A Kind of Loving) but she is 5 yrs older than me so I knew her younger sister better. My brother knew June as they both attended the Stretford Children's Theatre where they appeared in The Mikado.
I didn't go to school with them but I know Ben Cohen (used to look after him in he school holidays) and Paul Diggin. Both played for The Saints and England.
Gregor Fisher and I went to school at the same time not the same school but at the same time a great lad
Jude Law went to my school
Jim Laker ( cricketing legend) was one class ahead of me.
There should have been a pool.
I would bet 100 posts from name-droppers by midnight.
I've thought very hard about this but can't think of anyone.
