They probably weren’t famous when at school, but what were they like then?

When I was a school prefect, in charge of the school's two libraries, I had a team of younger boys helping me. One of them was a very cheeky, but very likeable, lad called Nicholas Kershaw. I understand he later went into the music business ;-) If you'll count teaching in Sheffield as 'school days', I was in charge of the city's schoolboy cricket teams, as well as...

Yes... Sophie Holloway (afterwards Dahl) was very shy and timid. Fern Britton, Honey G... I didn't really know personally.
My dad was best friends with Elton John at school, and for many years after.
My husband went to Grammar School with John Steele from the Animals
David Suchet. Nice chap.
Not directly - David's relative was a famous fashion designer.
no but loads of people went to school with me :)
I was just about to put that, woof ;-)
Christine Hamilton (Neil's wife) went to my school but before I was there. I did teach someone who became a county and England cricketer.

Pixie, Fern Britton is 20 years older than Sophie Dahl...and a few more still from Honey G. Did you mean Fearne Cotton?
I lived over the shared garden wall from Graeme Garden's aunty.
Though I wasn't at school with them (I missed them by a few years), four of the five members of Spandau Ballet went to my school. They met and formed their first group there. Martin Kemp was the only one of the line up not to attend my school.

In 2013 the school celebrated its 400th Anniversary and Gary Kemp was invited to act as the patron of the anniversary celebrations. There were lots of events culminating in a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. I met Gary at that event. A jolly nice chap - as all the Old Boys of my school are :-)
Brian Poole and Patsy Ann Noble (an early Doctor Who assistant).
No, theblip, different schools. Fern Britton left just before I joined, I think... and came back for fetes etc. I only got to know her after we left. Sophie Holloway, was in my sister's year when we were at a different school.
Daniel Casey, who played Sgt Troy in the first six seasons of Midsomer Murders. He was nice and quiet at School, but mercilessly reminded a kid on a daily basis that he would wipe the floor with me at Table Tennis - I whitewashed him 3-0!
If College counts, then Lily Cole.
If being famous for being on it'll be 'Alright On The Night 'is allowed. This guy in the red jumper ( Brian Plummer ) taught me and other kids Rural science at my secondary school ( his lessons were always interesting ! ).

One thing, I maybe shouldn't say.... but my dad, who died in January, used to take us to see The Shadows when we were little. We used to laugh, because he would always sling a guitar in the boot "in case one of them broke a string". It was many many years later, that we realised he maybe wasn't entirely joking, as he had played with them many times and continued to play with Jet Harris until he died.
I wish I had asked him more now... as he was quite reticent about everything.
Our family collects protestant divines
My mother was contemporary with Elizabeth Cornerup - so holy that she got her confessor ( priest sort of ) thrown out of his monastery !

I went to school with one ( normal ) and uni with another ( "mad as a hatter")

[well that is nothing - a fren' has a saint in HIS family]
Yup, Dr Paul Syme, nice guy then, brilliant now. :-)
Zacs-Master "I was just about to put that, woof ;-)"

great minds ZM
I met someone who had been on the Antiques Road Show - no he wasnt THE antique - in the pub once
