Anyone else noticed the judges on Strictly, even Craig now, are being overly generous in their praise and scoring? Maybe that’s the BBC telling them to be super-nice in these PC days and not say anything that might be construed as harsh or insensitive. Anyone with knowledge of Latin and ballroom dancing knows much of what they say is bollards, and they’d never say it to professional competitors. As for Anton, having been one of the pro dancers so long, he says every flipping contestant is fabulous for fear of upsetting his old colleagues. Trouble is dishing out 9s and 10s so early in the contest means there’s nowhere to go - in their false opinions, the performances are already perfect...when they definitely are not. Having said that, I’d be glad if Motsi never returns. You?

I agree the scores are overly generous, even Craig. All Anton can manage is 'tremendous', and I'd be glad if I never had to listen to that grating voice of Motsi's. Other than that....

I view it more as an entertainment show than a serious dance competition so the judges and their scores don’t really bother me.
I didn’t think I’d say it..but..I prefer Anton to Motsi so wouldn’t be upset if she doesn’t return.
To be honest, I thought the were being pretty generous before Motsi went into isolation, so his generous scoring is just continuing the trend.

I will also add that the level of the competitors has been far superior to previous years, I wonder if it's because there are in an isolation bubble, they are free to commit more time to practice?
I saw this for the first time this evening, visiting family, they too were commenting on the scoring. Not being a fan I may be wrong but I thought that Caroline Quentin had wooden legs yet they said she had done well!
I agree - over generous with the scores.
^ Ditto. No, wouldn't be bothered if Motsi didn't come back. Would love Bill to win.
Who saw Caroline's wooden legs then?

Has Claudia W bought a new wig?

Who shrunk Tess D?

and as to D'Acampo - keep him over on ITV as he's b-awful in that Family Fortunes, Monkhouse must be squirming in his grave.
Personally I would be very happy if neither Motsi or Bruno return they're both completely OTT. I think Anton deserves his spot on the panel and hope that he takes Bruno's spot permanently as I can't see them getting rid of Motsi for pc reasons
I find someone going into so much critical detail about a light entertainment TV show far mor worrying than the prog itself.
i like Anton, not keen on motsi ,she shouts ,shirley just annoys me and craig is so negative but i still enjoy all the dances .it would be great if Bill wins but i'm not sure the rumba will be very good .
the lip.....Mrs sqad agrees, at this stage in previous years a 7 was a very good score, but now it is only average.
Why? she doesn't know.......?
I watched it last night for the first time this year to see how Anton got on. I thought the judges were less critical (especially Craig), more technical (which I liked). I thought the apparent good dancing by most of the competitors was because there was no live audience, so they were less nervous. Without all the silly shrieking ( except for Karen Hauer after her dance) and generally nice costumes (except the horrible street dance outfits), I thought it was more like the old Strictly, which I loved. Pity Motsi’s back next week.
Mrs sqad can't STAND Motsi.
"and as to D'Acampo - keep him over on ITV as he's b-awful in that Family Fortunes, Monkhouse must be squirming in his grave."

eh?
sqad - you mean it was good to get a "Severn" LOL
Bednobs, the chef, Gino D'Acampo has started hosting a new series of Family Fortunes. I don't watch it but don't imagine DTC thinks foo much of him. Bob Mo khouse hosted years ago
whats that got to go with strctly - hes not on it!
Mrs sqad says:

Tess and Claudia are badly dressed getting their clothes from Oxford.

Caroline: apparently one has to have straight legs for the Cha Cha..........DTC 0943
do you mean Oxfam sqad
Emmie...yes lol.
