Yes, I recorded it and watched it on Boxing Day. I thought from the trailers that it was going to be rubbish, but it was very good. Coincidentally I saw this on Youtube this morning ...

Oh dear I seem to be in a minority - I have seen bits of this over the years and never found it at all funny - it was quite buttock clenching in places and I only saw a bit of the Christmas special while waiting for another programme on another channel - my opinion has not changed and I find them all over acting and predictable. Emperor's new clothes springs to mind.

What do we think happened on the fishing trip though?????
The look on my 14 year old's granddaughter at the end was pricelsss, she was beating floor too.
I was surprised to earn that Ruth Jones was in East is East, she was the hang-on friend of the girl who had a relationship with one of the brothers.

My take on the fishing trip was some sort of homosexual act, I can't think why else they would be so embarrassed ! That's interesting about Ruth Jones in East is East, I can see her in my mind's eye and yes, it was her wasn't it ….
