Bloody hell. What happened?
Oh gosh. Was there much damage?

I can imagine the shock, scary stuff.
Kate, that's awful - no wonder you are shaken.x
Oh ((Kate)), that's awful! I hope you're ok though? How bad was the damage? Stay well x
Oh Kate......how awful for you....smash an old plate or something...that breaks the third thing happening.....x
Blooming heck! Hope you are all ok. What a shock.
oh dear - er were any of your relations in it at the time?
any terrifying stuff
one hopes you were insured ....
( and they dont find some damn loophole)

anyway - think money loss - no one was damaged or killed

That must have been really scary, are you ok ?
I'm extra careful with candles, but anyone can make a mistake - so glad no one was hurt.

it has really shook me up,i cant go home,i am going to stay with my sister in rothesay for a week,
Candles caused a serious fire at my friend's house. The moral is to have candles in large containers that are considerable higher than the candle. Then if the wax catches light, or you forget to put the candle out, it can't cause any damage. So pleased you're all okay, Kate. Fire really is truly frightening.
Terrible shock for you Kate. So thankful no one was hurt. ((Hugs))
So sorry to hear this Kate, just glad no-one was hurt. As Gness says destroy something on purpose to break the threes hex x
Crikey, Slinky, how awful. Glad to hear you and your pooch are ok albeit very shaken.

I love candles and usually get the ones in tall, wide glass jars. My tealights go into little glass holders.
"The moral is to have candles in large containers that are considerable higher than the candle."

No, naomi. The moral is not to have candles in the house at all. They are extremely dangerous objects which have no place in the home and in my view should not be sold to the public at all. We've moved on a bit from having naked flames for lighting purposes and we now have electric lights and battery powered lamps for back up in case of power failure.
Romantic night in with NJ and his strip light then ladies :) x
NJ, whether to have them or not is a choice. The advice I gave came from the Fire Brigade.
oh yeah Kval - romantic and cozy
put your red neck luffer out to hog-wrestle in the catskills or somewhere, at night, week end preferably
and I will come over with my candles and a decent bottle of chablis - or six
yeah i do candles
night lights in jam jars ....
