Never expected the twist at the end, though old Jed usually has one up his sleeve. Very understated acting performance by the timid little victim/'engineer and Jihadi'. Watching her turn from mouse to lion was like watching Jekyll turn into Hyde. Brilliant series and, like many on here, i look forward to next year's return of Line Of Duty.

I was bewildered that, at no pint, did anyone say to David Budd, "Bloody hell, what happened to your face?", which (had they done so) might have led them to find out that he was beaten up and that the vest was put on him by "the baddies"!

If the programme had wished to continue the factual side of being a CPO and maintain realistic side of today's policing then DS Budd,instead of being told a good job done and shown to a stress councellor at OH, he would be on the wrong side of the charge room table answering at least two charges of unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition. His Force issue Glock, if you remember,had to be surrendered along with his blue card (pink card in my day). He then had more hand guns popping up than Woolwich arsenal. Remember what the Police Chief Superintendent said recently and promptly got suspended," You have to be whiter than white". Be lucky out there. :-)

i understand, but this excellent drama is not a factual programme, and as i said there has to be some artistic licence in there to make it watchable.

that was my thinking, i enjoyed it all, very nailbiting, especially at the end, i really did think that their motor with DS Budd and his family were going to be blown to pieces, glad that didn't happen.

loads of plot holes but has there ever been a drama/film without them? Eg he wakes up with his thumb taped to the DMT and later says his hand is aching, what kept it pressed whilst he was passed out? If it was the tape then fine but he had no need to press it himself.
