internet explorer

It says internet explorer display the webpage . I cannot seem to use ie anymore can any one give some reasons why please ? Im using XP and also firefox 3 thanks.

avast home 4.8 problem

managed to uninstall it. but then i coulnt get onto internet explorer. when i reinstalled avast i could use internet explorer again . i want to try another antivirus programme, but it seems im stuck...
