Judge Rinder.

Today, first case......two Gays, drag artists squabbling over a dress, with gay Judge Rinder in charge.........all Gays.
The disgusting bit: he involved, embarrassed and in my opinion made thew "bouncer" very uncomfortable on TV by saying that polka dot dresses were not for him (the bouncer)
He, the bouncer was clearly uncomfortable.
That was unnecessary in my opinion and showed poor judgement and taste.

Jack, unless we watched it, we're not allowed to comment.

aye, right.

Can't stand Rinder and will not watch him but he is an arrogant nasty piece of work who is downright rude.

Ah! JTH.

In answer to your question...on TV on what is a serious programme...........YES....I would think it unacceptable even more so if she reacted in a quite embarrassing way.

Now......anyone seen the episode?
Question Author
alba......by goodness......quick on the uptake.
1. It is far from a 'serious TV programme'......even if it likes to pretend is has 'proper' credentials.
2. Anyone who has watched someone be humilitated (or been humiliated themselves) by an ill-judged 'bit of banter' can imagine the scene without actually having to have watched the programme.
3. Was it worse because it was on TV?
Question Author
JTH

1) that is a matter of opinion, as you your knowledge of the Law.
2)Maybe, but i was talking about a particular episode in a particular programme which would have differentiated an opinion, form an informed opinion.
3) I have no idea.....that wasn't the point of the OP because it WAS on TV.

Morons watch this programme just as they do EastEnders, Coronation Street etc. It purports to be entertainment - dream on.

Well, put me down as a moron........I watch it and mostly enjoy it.
I'm a huge Corrie fan so I'll join Sqad in the Moron Club
"Between you and I you have never seen anything like Peter in Polka dots...."

And he was on screen for all of 2 seconds......
I'm a moron too....
Join the club, ummmm. The more the merrier
-- answer removed --
Me too. Fess up to Corrie...EE and Emmerdale !!!
Judge Rinder acts as an arbiter in a form of binding arbitration. Is how the programme is explained.

I don't watch it - that doesn't mean I'm not a moron of course.

I'm not a fan of humiliation but as I didn't see it in context won't say any more.
What a lot of snobbery... sqad can watch what he likes... Didn't see it either, sqad, but it just sounds like badly judged banter. I suspect they are all used to him.
The attraction of JR to participants is that the show pays any awards out..not the wronged or otherwise parties...the show is all about determining the rights and wrongs legally in order for such judgement to be made..
As it happens I did see this episode and didn’t see anything wrong with it.
It is a win, win for the participants. The production company pays all the costs, accommodation and travel expenses, so if A is ordered to pay B £500 the company pays it.
There was a case a while ago where the participants made the whole story up and shared the profit.

Today a QC was calling for Mr Rinder to be sacked from the bar, claiming a legal profession and reality tv cannot mix.
As a regular viewer of Judge Rinder myself, I can confirm that he regularly makes comments/asides to Michelle (the Usher) and Peter(the bouncer)......yes, they can be cheeky, risque, etc. but neither look particularly embarrased or discomfitted.

I suspect the real heart of sqad's posts lies in the first two lines......
