The final episode is on tv next week - at long last. I recorded the first part when it was shown months ago (yet to watch it) but you will remember the second part was postponed.

Does anyone know if next week's broadcast is part 2 or both parts? There is no mention of a second episode being shown .

i think the previous episode and next week's episode are separate stories
Question Author
Good. They usually are but I thought with the last 2 episodes being the last ever they may have done a longer story line.

I love the series so I'm glad we will finally get to see the end
What channel is it on? I do like George Gently.
Great series made Sunday Night viewing worthwhile looking forward to next episode.
From next week's Radio Times (am I the only one who buys it?)

Inspector George Gently (last ever episode), Monday 30th ,8.30 to 10pm, BBC1.
....Gently reminder, for fans of this prog....TONIGHT at 8.30pm
gingejbee - no you're not alone!
I found it very slow and tedious. Research was not up to scratch either. The first two episodes ended with two men being hanged for murder. By that time the particular murders were classed as non-capital so would not have attracted the death penalty.
Question Author
Why were those murders not capital offences?
Google s.1 Homicide Act 1957 to find which murders were capital and non-capital. Neither of the ones portrayed fitted into the capital category.
