just had the pleasure of watching episode 2.

imo, utter tripe.

Canned laughter no doubt and am not surprised about that.

However, if it floats yer boat, then fine.

Amy thoughts on Ep 2?

Just watched an episode but wont try it again, stilted and unfunny
Question Author
talking of remakes, the film where the 'mannequin' comes to life is nothing compared to the original.
I know it's B&W, but it's classy.

Talbot, it's not a repeat, it's a re-make and Nigel isn't in Slade.

I know I saw the trailer. It was an addition to YMB's post @ 22:24 Fri 13th Oct 2017Report

Talbot, one thing that irks me is when a channel shows the same clips from 'up-coming shows' and then the same 'clip' for the next episode.
Do 'they' think we are mis-guided? :-)
Mamy; "But he isn't copying. He's Nigel not Norman."

Yet there is an element of 'copying, Mamy. He continuously chews gum the same way his grandfather did and has many of the same mannerisms - all of which are forced, imho. Then there are the names the writers have given to the characters; the bossy Mr Meekie (the bossy Mr McKay), the mild mannered Mr Braithwaite (the mild mannered Mr Barrowclough). I watched some of last weeks and the first 15 mins of this week's, but i won't be watching again.
I know, I agree to a point - they are trying to recreate something that was popular using him as 'a chip off the old block'.

I doubt they'll make more given the reception.
Not seen this, never saw the original but on the subject of repeats, I was channel flicking the other day and came across Percy Sugden and a child-like Ken Barlow, they seem to be showing the seriously old episodes of Coronation Street. It serves to show how bad the current version is, could be an own goal.
Supermarket Sweep is coming back to ITV,how depressing.!!
It's not a remake though, is it. It's a new show based on the prison scenario of the previous one.
Ah I now see that has been mentioned.
