whenever there is a talent show or other, when announcing the one to go home,
or indeed the winner the pause gets longer and longer, causing some scenes of mass hysteria from the audience.

was watching the Paint show, and the one to go home was, pause, pause, why can't they just announce it straight away and put the poor sod out of their misery.

even worse is when they pause for two minutes and then say 'we'll tell you after the break' ...

i know, it must be agony for those who have little or no hope, and the winner is, ...........................
