Why is this excellent, entertaining programme buried in the middle of daytime dross, when other far less well made tripe is in prime time?

It's a mystery to me, sunny-dave. I also enjoy The Coroner made by the same company, another BBC afternoon drama.

lots of excellent dramas are tucked away in the early afternoons, doesn't make sense to me ...

Thank goodness for time-shifting, catchup, recording whatever - but it does mean that some people who would have liked these programmes don't even know they exist though.

^^^well, they would know if they used a decent listings mag (ie Radio Times). People spend a small fortune on a decent TV and never know when something worth watching is on !

Agree it's well done and deserves a wider audience. Shame about the terrible overacting of Jack Deam as the police inspector, which spoils it- Hugo Speer and Tom Chambers were much better.
