I don't think he's a good singer. They were good as a group but not individually. They done catchy tunes, wrote some brilliant stuff, but if Barry Gibb appeared on X Factor he wouldn't get past the auditions.

why was barry not playing the guitar - - still a good singer.
I thought he was great! His voice is still as strong as ever and unique. He and Sting were my only reason for watching after Robbie's opening.

He is 70 for gods sake. what can you do at 70.
I was listening to his music when he wasn't 70 for gods sake!!!
Barry suffers from arthritis in his hands/ wrists. He has a unique voice, admittedly it's not as good as it was but Bee Gees fans will love him whatever.
I thought barry gibb and alan davies good, the rest awful .
I'll have nothing bad said about him - having recorded some great songs. :-)

When i was at school - 'how deep is your love ' was our song - i.e. me and my girlfriend .

( I wonder what she is up to now )
As I have said before, a lot of 'senior' artists still love the endless thrill of playing to a live audience, and are understandably reluctant to give that up.

Similarly, a large selection of the public want to see legendary performers, even allowing for the fact that their glory days are behind them.

I am selective - I can ignore the shaky voice, and absence of the high notes in someone like Paul McCartney, but I wouldn't cross the road to watch Axel Rose prostitute what is left of his talent galumphing around a stage with a bunch of session players and calling it Guns 'n' Roses.

Spot on Ummmm.
trt - Rock and pop has never (and amen to that!) depended on 'good' singers in order to function and thrive.

I can count on one hand the singers and bands who have 'good' singers, but that's not why I love them - it's not about technique, it's about drive and passion and style.

If you want 'good' singers, listen to an opera.
I asked this on a previous Barry Gibb thread, worth asking again I suppose.
Did he sing "Massive chew sets"?
Togo - comedy gold!

That man should be carried shoulder-high from the room!!
Seen as Paul McCartney has been ,mentioned .

I cannot understand what all the fuss is about PM .
He is just/has been an average , even less than average singer , in my opinion

It's definitely the passion that comes through with singing artists.
It's very attractive.
As we're talking about PM, he's a terrible songwriter. Almost everything he's written without John Lennon has been quite appalling.
do they still go round on the roundabout playground think ?
Cloverjo, John was always my favourite but now I think George has to be.
It's about the songs. You don't need to be a great singer to make a great song.

If I wanted to listen to Opera Andy, I would save myself money, and visit a Cats Boarding Kennel!
