Holkham beach is stunning, features in many films and TV programmes. To be fair to her, the house is generally referred to as Holkham rather than Holkham Hall so I see what she means.
Thanks, Balders.....know now that Holkham in Norfolk...was led to believe that there was perhaps two of the same name.....apparently not the Case......Holker Hall in Cumbria mistaken but it sounds interesting to visit so thanks to Jourdain for mentioning it.

By the way, there is nothing the matter with me, Balders.....ok pal x
Yes Yogi, the area around Holker Hall is lovely, nearer for me of course living North West.

Maybe one day I'll get to Norfolk.

Nor me Yogi, I read the small print. ;o)

PS, the Merc Driver says Hello.
Please say Hi back x. :-)

Is now Tashi.
Yogi, I know exactly where it is, just running through the grey cells to who had the business decades ago!

This was us, we built and ran the building on the left for 12 years.....

When we lived in Norfolk we used the Hotel Wroxam, on the river, by the bridge, Bernard Matthews and Family were also locals, at the time they came up with the slogan "Norfolk and good"
It didn't last long.
Small world DTC.....while up there last year we met a couple on holiday from Milton Keynes who were staying there and invited us in for drinks at the bar after a meal out.....we briefly met the woman owner, who was called Phillipa, but her partner was out that night so never met him......cant for the life of me remember what his name was.....the couple spoke very highly of them and the guest house.....even had an indoor pool.
If that was your family business .....very nice indeed, DTC.:-)
I hold my hands up - Holker Hall is in Cumbria - still well worth a visit. Sorry, for confusion :( (It was a good try on long-ago memories.)
Yes, Ive been to Holkham Hall too, well worth a visit.
