I only joined The Missing this time round. Is series 1 worth catching up with?

I was thinking of buying it on DVD, after enjoying this second series. Please no spoilers!

Yes, definitely.
I wouldn't waste your money - it has the unbearable James Nesbitt as the main character!
Personally I preferred Series 2, it seemed to have a more conclusive ending than Series 1.
Definitely not a patch on series 2
Do you have to watch series one to be able to get into series two?

No i have just enjoyed series 2 having never seen The Missing before, hence my question ummm.
I know...but just wondered if it took a while to get into it if series 1 was missed.
The only connection was that Baptiste was involved in searching for a previous "missing" child. His wife featured also. No direct link to Missing 2
Cool...thanks, I'll start watching it then :-)

Little support here for series 1 so perhaps its a no then. Unless others disagree?
Superb
Although not as good as series 2 I really enjoyed series 1.

Give it a go :)
I enjoyed Series 1 more and had a much more thought provoking ending. I guessed the ending of Series 2 before the last episode. I would certainly buy the video. If you watch it, you will see a few links, to his daughter and his wife and the name of the main character in series 1.

And James Nesbitt was brilliant in it!!
Couldn't choose between series one or two, both are some of the best TV in recent times.
I second the view that Nesbitt was brilliant in it. It's all to do with the effect that the disappearance had on the family and he portrayed this accurately.
Hell yes buy it
It was compulsive viewing( series 1) and good acting but the ending let it down for me. It seemed the writers didn't know how to finish it. Shame, because the rest of it was brilliant like the second series. Out of the two, 2nd series was best in my opinion.
