Clue:  Suffers, having no end of bother with bone.

I?C?S.      My thinking is "itcos" = endless itch + os (bone).   But the endless bother could be ir (irk).

Any help (answers or thoughts) would be gratefully received.   Thank you.

Incus. Suffers = incurs but without the 'r' which is the end letter of 'bother'. The incus is a bone in the ear.
this was answered a few days ago, the answer is incus (small bone in the ear) incurs without r (the end of bother).

My wife has just told me answer = incus (a type of bone).  Incurs without r (end of bother).  I've told her to get on with making the breakfast.  I love you.
How about that for synchrography!
thats a large word for this time of the morning quizmonster!!!!

synchography = art of solving crosswords while tied to the kitchen synch !!!

Thank you all.

I've been using 'synchrography' on AB for years, Ineed, to indicate the fact that two of us have clearly been typing simultaneously. It has become even more noticeable now that we have times attached to our responses. Presumably, I clicked my 'Submit' button a mere micro-second before you did, probably because you used more letters than I did.
I quite like your pun on the word, Ever

Thanks QM.   The pun only sprang to mind because Madame OAPFUL  was in the kitchen making the breakfast.  She'd asked for a clue to ponder while watching the kettle boil (or whatever it is that goes on in the kitchen before breakfast appears).  Great word synchrography.  Best wishes.
